Gemma DonnellyGemma trained at the Whitehall College of Performing Arts in the UK where she gained a first class 3 year Musical Theatre Diploma and her Associate in Drama and Musical Theater as well as her International Teachers in Modern and Tap Dance.

Whilst in the UK Gemma performed in various shows including Saturday Night at the London Palladium and Prince Charles 50th Birthday Celebrations at the Lyceum where she danced behind Robbie Williams. Gemma appeared in The Gerri Halliwell “Its Raining Men” video and also in TV dramas in the UK including Frances Tuesday and Wyrd Sister.

Gemma left the UK in 2000 to work as the lead production vocalist for Carnival Cruises where she traveled America and the Caribbean. Since moving to South Africa she has performed Echo Maguire in Richard Loring’s 'That'll be the Day', Janet in the Rocky Horror Picture Show, 2nd cast Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady.

Gemma traveled to Athens with Jesus Christ Superstar where she understudied Mary and returned to play Hodal in Deon Opperman’s ‘Fiddler on the Roof’’. Most recently she played Lou-Anne in Hairspray, Susan in ‘The Full Monty’ and Wendy-Jo in the musical, Footloose.

Gemma also played Christine in the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical, The Boys in The Photograph’. In 2008, Gemma opened Stageworx performing Arts Academy and recently joined a special needs arts school with Kim Rundle and Jackie Donnelly, an integrated special needs and able bodied arts school where the students are entered for the International Trinity Musical Theatre and Drama examinations.

Gemma was extremely proud when some of her students were selected to be part of the Boys in the Photograph Musical. Gemma is excited to be part of this great production and wishes her fellow cast members a great and successful run.
